Biography

Saeed’s story began in Jordan with a passion for social Innovation, community building, and a love for humanity and fostering shared connection. He has long been committed to advancing change in society by bringing people together in any and every way possible.

Studying design and applied art in university, his creative side developed alongside an entrepreneurial spirit. Faced with two choices post-graduation — traditional employment or taking a risk and founding an organization of his own — he opted for the latter, which led to the founding of Shams Community.

Shams Community combined his commitment to advancing change in society with his love for and experience in dialogue. As he worked to bring people together to engage across their differences, he sought to enhance his own understanding of entrepreneurial leadership.

In 2015 he moved to Kenya to pursue graduate studies in social innovation management at the Amani Institute in Nairobi. Through this program, his vision for Shams grew, and he piloted Shams Table, a dialogue-based community gathering in which participants engage on a topic important to them over a shared meal.
